The belt surface is made of nylon material for increased wear resistance and ESD compliance. The flat belt has a unit load of 1kg/cm. The flat belt drive is driven by the friction between the following two components: platen and belts. Therefore, flat belts need to have a high tensile strength to withstand high preload pressures.

During operation, the flat belt continues to rub against the pallet and the guide. As a result, flat belts can wear out or break after long periods of operation.

When replacing a flat belt on a pallet conveyor line, a special tool is required to stretch the flat belt before it can be installed between the pulleys. Once installed, the flat belt and the belt/pulleys will be preloaded directly.
